This is my second time coming here and the food and service is second to none! The owner and his son are great people and a throwback to how business should be run. Stop by and try this location and you will not be disappointed!

For the past 17 years I (my wife for much longer) have been a loyal customer to a fresh off the boat Italian Deli on Balboa in Northridge. Today we cheated on them and visited San Carlo Italian Deli on Mason here in Chatsworth. We have a new favorite deli. From the instant I walked in I saw similarities in the two stores. The brands are the same. The pricing as well. But what stood out without question for me was the quality of the bread (made fresh daily) and the food. This deli serves traditional Italian sandwiches and plates. Their meatballs are to die for, and couple that with Pasqual (the owner served us personally) and the experience is over the top. Which would explain why every dining table both inside and out was taken. The smiles emanating from the other clients let us know we were in for a great experience long before we took our first bite. Shop here or dine here (or do both) either way you are in for a treat. And I now know that while I have a new love, I stayed in the family. Both of these deli’s are operated separately but, owned by the same family.

Hello fam!! I found this Italian Dely, and let me think about my experince today. Delicious pastramy, great cheeses and everything else look fres from scratch. Unfourtanaly, bread has no flavor it can be improved. I defenely coming back for meat and chesese but this time i would have to buy bread elsewhere. Great location, friendly staff, and affordable prices. Recommended.

Found this wonderful place by searching for a place to get prosciutto that could be sliced thick. Walked in and instantly knew I had found a wonderful place. Left with 4 foschetta's, potato salad. They also tossed in 4 rolls for free! While there all customers received what could be best described as Italian empanada that were fresh from the oven! Learned that they are in their 50th year if business. Friendly banter seems to be the norm here. I wish it were closer to my home as I would be a regular. Will make sure to visit anytime I'm in the area.

I had the San Carlo special. It was pretty good. I've had better subs at places like Jersey Mike's. However, San Carlo is very good at its slightly lower price point. I will go back to try some of their more expensive options to see how those compare. I also had some of their pizza bread. The pizza bread is very good, which gives me hope for their pizzas, so I will be trying those out as well and updating my review. I tried this place a couple more times and had the pastrami sandwich and a pepperoni pizza. Once again the sandwich was good, but not great, though I did prefer it over the last sandwich I got. The pizza is great though, well worth the cost.

Love San Carlo Deli. Best delii in the valley hands down. Friendliness is off the chart, and they do get busy. But the exude friendliness and are always handing out little mini cheese calzones and always giving you little tastes of meats they slice for you to take home for sandwiches, just totally Italian. Great family owned business, great pizza, sandwiches and pasta dishes, I could go on and on. If you've been here you know, if not you need to check it out. Plus well stocked little market with imported pasta, wine, olive oil, cookies etc. Check them out, you won't regret it.
